Anna Griffin Beautiful Swirl Dies to Decorate a Friends 40th Brithday Gift

 

Hello Everyone. . . .

Today I decided to show you something a little different than a card.  A gift wrapped box I did for a friends 40th birthday.  I decided to use a couple of beautiful Anna Griffin dies from my craft stash for this gift box.

I had to wrap the nail polish color box in black card to remind her she is turning the Big 4 - 0  this year.  What are friends for right!!   I then added a matching belly band to the box.  I cut the largest swirl die out of copper colored glitter card from my stash, and three of the smaller swirl die - (one is out of black glitter card, and two out of plain black card).  I adhered all three small swirls together.  I completed the look with some tiny flat back rhinestones I bought from www.wholesalerhinestone.com.

I also stamped a big 4-0 on the card envelope in black ink and tucked the card under the belly band.

I hope she likes it. . . . . .

Shaker Card using Altenew Layered Dahlia Stencil - Distress Oxide Inks & Tim Holtz word dies

Hello Everyone

It is another HOT Sunday, so this lady is staying inside, having fun with her crafts. YAH!!!

 Today I decided to open up my new Altenew Layered Dahlia stencil package. OH BOY!

 I started creating my card using my distress oxide inks in worn lipstick and  abandoned coral to color the image in two steps.  I taped the first stencil back onto the image, and applied Versa Mark ink.  I took off the stencil, and embossed the image in clear embossing powder. After that I cut out a circle window with two dies from my stash.

I decided to bring out my We Are Memory Fuse tool and a flip frame clear pocket from Tim Holtz-idea-ology line I bought ages ago from Joanns.  I cut one of the pockets down in size, filled it with tiny beads and sequins, and fused it back together with the fuse tool.  I popped  the completed image off the front of my card with a piece of fun foam and added the die cut sentiment from Tim Holtz.  The card base is made from Stampin Up card I had in my stash.   The glitter card sentiment is also from Stampin Up.  Hope you like it.

Watercoloring Day . . .with Prisma Pencils and Zig Clean Color Pens

Hello Everyone. . .

Today I decided I needed to practice my water coloring skills, seeing I haven't pick up a brush much in the last few years.

I thought I would start back with the easiest routes, Watercolor pencils, Zig pens, and a water brush.

This first card I used an ALTENEW stamp set - Persian Motifs.  I colored the flowers with Prisma pencils and a water brush on Canson watercolor paper. 

I first stamped the images with Versa Mark clear ink and white embossing powder for the outline of the images.  After I finished the coloring I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter pen accents, and some white dots from my Bright White Gelly Roll pen .  The sentiment is one from Crafters Companion.   In the end I outlined each image with a Copic Alcohol marker - C1 so the images would pop off the card more. I mounted the card front on a piece of fun foam.

 

The second card I struggled with finding the color combo that I wanted to color the images with.

I used another ALTENEW stamp set - Needlework Motif, and same sentiment from Crafters Companion. 

I used my Zig Clean Color water coloring pens on this one, along with my water brush.  First I embossed the outline of the images with more white embossing powder.  After coloring I  accented the flowers with my Wink Of Stella clear glitter pen again and added a bunch of black ink dots around various points of the image.  I also outlined this image with a Copic Alcohol pen - C1.  At the end I decided to make two score lines on all four sides of the image to make it pop more, and mounted it on fun foam.

 Hope you liked them.  I'm still on the fence for card #2.
